# Bifröst: A Lightweight and Customizable Homepage Dashboard

> In Norse mythology, Bifröst is the bridge between the land of mortals, Midgard, and the land of the gods, Asgard. The gods cross it every day to meet and decide things at Urdarbrunn (Well of Urd) under the tree Yggdrasill. The bridge is a rainbow. It was built by the Æsir and is guarded by the god Heimdall.

Bifröst is a minimalist startpage dashboard for managing quick links in your browser. It's forked from [jeroenpardon/sui](https://github.com/jeroenpardon/sui), with a few practical additions on top, and stays under 125kb. The idea is a personal homepage you can configure exactly the way you want.

Configuration is JSON-based, so setting up and organizing sections is straightforward, whether that's bookmarks, service monitoring, or quick links to the tools you use daily.

Bifröst also supports Docker if you want to self-host it, and it comes with basic access control and low resource usage.
